POP THA CHAMPAGNE!
SEX-ED is officially moving into Greenhouse Studios as of September 1st!
But first – lets go back about 8 months ago to when my good friend Eric B invited me to a session he was partaking in at the studio complex. I remember entering for the first time and being wowed by the communal and overall dope vibe that radiated throughout the hallways.
GOOD ENERGY!
I couldn’t stop raving to Anthony and Farshad about how incredible it was and vowed to somehow forge our way into the building. You see, the thing about Greenhouse is that it’s made up of about a dozen private studio suites, situated next to the two main tracking studios. The only way to get a room is if one unexpectedly opens up (but they’ve only had 4 people turnover in the last 5 years)- or in our case, a recommendation.
Enter Sherry St. Germain!

We met in the cafeteria/kitchen area about 3 months later when I was chillin’ with Eric and Heatwave in Red One’s room. We instantly clicked! I played her the K-OS remix SEX-ED had just finished at the time in my living room (available 4 FREE download BTW: http://www.zshare.net/audio/62190839f43798c6/). She seriously dug it, and invited me up to her private suite (lol). A beautiful friendship began to blossom….
Turns out we (Sherry, Farshad, Anthony and I) had this crazy musical synergy! One thing led to another, and we’re now finishing up 3 songs we tracked with her in her studio (minus the live drums) that will slam your face in!
ANYWAY
Because of our amazing experience spending endless nights in Greenhouse, she mentioned us to the owners of the place. In an “excellent timing event”, they let her know they were planning on setting up a new room, and she vouched that we could take it. THANKS SHERRY! WE LOVE YOU!
This marks a NEW BEGINNING! After spending the last year working out of my living room studio, we have finally made it to the next level. That means I can turn the music up as loud as I want and I WON’T GET EVICTED! Shit is about to go DOWN.

How did you get this way? At what point was your coherency threshold crossed? When did you exit reality, entering this intoxicated haze - suddenly feeling unable to behave on a normal level?
And all your friends are like “you look really drunk”.

I’m going through this strange phase at the moment where I seem to be staying up all night. It all started early last week when I HAD to do it for work. That led to a string of all nighters….At first because I was up editing all the video footage I’ve been compiling for the last 2 years. but THEN, because I had a couple all night JAM SESSIONS with Sherry at Greenhouse.
I CAN’T HELP IT.
I’M NOT TIRED!
What wll become of me? How do I “get back to reality”?

What a horrible quality photo!! It’s the best I could do when trying to track down pics of this mysterious musical master! You may not know Rod Temperton, but you KNOW Rod Temperton. The dude has written some of the dopest, groundbreaking and most memorable music in the history of humankind/supafunkadelicishdoperythms….and he’s white.
Rod Temperton wrote a little song you might remember called THRILLER.
But let’s not jump ahead of ourselves. It all started back in the 70′s when dorky looking white British dudes could go out there and kill it on stage every night. Rod cut his musical teeth with a band called HEATWAVE.
This is a pic of their second record, but I recommend starting with their first album “TOO HOT TO HANDLE”.

Not to be pidgeonholed by the “PIMP FUNK” genre, Rod really proved his worth when he was hand picked by Quincy Jones to write for Michael Jackson’s first solo effort OFF THE WALL.
After writing the title track, he banged out the karaoke spectacular ROCK WITH YOU.
In reality, the list of amazing material he’s composed is too much to get into, so I’ll condense it into some of “my faves”.
