For us, when creating a song/record, you often start with a small idea or hook that inspires….This could be a beat, vocal melody, or simple chord progression.
IMO, The REAL FUN starts when you begin to play with sounds. In today’s case, we’re taking some of our latest ideas and making our way down to Studio C here in Greenhouse where a couple a super nice dude named Jessie happens to have an incredibly large vintage synth collecton.
It’s crazy how a synth sound can completely shape/change/progress the song you’re working on. It could be the glue that suddenly pulls everything together and get’s you all excited and tingly.
The danger is, you shouldn’t rely on synth sounds to make the song cool. The song should ALREADY be cool. But if the song is dope, and you stumble across an unique/incredible sound…..all of the sudden everything becomes SUPER DOPE.
I can’t wait!
